Super Champ XD Settings
The settings below were gathered from a couple of different forums by capecod bluesman. Apologies for WordPress’s lame handling of tables; I’ll try to make this prettier when I have a chance.

Bill,
I have been following some threads on forums on the SCXD for a couple of months and finaly got me a SCXD yesterday. Haven’t been able try all the voices and FXs but it sounds good. That makes me wonder how DSP’s in general work. I have some background in electronics and math so I downloaded some amp schema’s form the Fender site (SCXD, VCXD, 900 De Luxe)and hoped to find out which chip is used and then search for documentation on the net. But none of these schema’s show the DSP chip (or the pcb with the DSP). Would you know a source for information on digital sound processing in general and the chip Fender uses?
thx,
Ian Schets.
(I have been reading and enyoing your work in pcmag and on audio equipment for 10+ years. Good stuff!)
I believe that the DSP that Fender uses is made by Texas Instruments, but I don’t recall for sure. It’s regarded as a “black box” on the schematic because there’s nothing that the user or repair person can do with it.
Here is a link that describes DSP fundamentals: http://www.sgcworld.com/dspintrotechnote.html. Gaining real mastery of DSP programming takes a great deal of study.
I’ve owned an SCXD for about a year and a half. The 1/4″ jack for the power out signal stopped woring. I opened up the chassis and have no Idea where to start with fixing this jack. Can anyone enlighten me?
The amp has a 5-year warranty. If you have the original receipt, just get it repaired. Actually, they replace it, because it’s just not worthwhile to take the time to service it in the field.
Hi guys,
I know this is an older post but I’ll respond anyway. I too had an issue with my Fender Super Champ XD. I called Fender, e-mailed them and even brought the amp to one of their service centers. My amp was less than 6 months old when I had my issue and guess what, they would not cover it under the 5 year Warranty. After I paid and picked up my amp. Mind you only $65.00 I had to make a point so I sent them a nasty email, this time I got a response from a Jeff Krause, he asked me to write to him what the problem was and he would see what he could do and get back to me. Well I sent that email on 3/23/2010 and it is now 7/8/2010 and you guess it, I never heard from him again.
Hope you have better luck with Fender than I did.
Tony
I had better luck with Fender warranty service. My Pro Jr started having filter cap issues after about 3 years. I looked up a local authorized service center on the Fender web site. Turned out to be small home shop, but they took it in, fixed it at no charge. I just made sure I had my ducks in a row with the paper work etc.
